Of course it is. I thought I had files sorted by name (I didn't) and when I didn't see a 'Spellforce 2' right next to 'Spellforce', I didn't look any further. That's one question down, now I just need to fix this license key issue. I'm not sure why it would ask for a serial when booting from your son's account. Is it a limited account previleges wise? In any case, If indeed there's a serial around somewhere it's most likely stored in the registry.

Again, I was just looking in the wrong place.

I had a similar problem on my dual-boot system. I installed the game in Windows 7, and could play it in Windows 7. But when I booted the system in Windows XP, and ran the same game files, I suddenly was asked for a license key. Obviously the installer had added something (presumably the key that has been mentioned above) into the Win7 registry, which was of course missing in the XP registry. Being too lazy to fiddle around with registry keys, I ran the installer again (now from XP), and installed the game into the folder where it already was.
This solved the problem. Interestingly, the install happened with lightning speed. There is no way the installer could have copied several gigabytes of files in an eyeblink, so apparently the installer realized that the files were already there, and just updated the registry.
